November 12, 2009: Chancellor Wilson accepts the 2009 Ann Lydecker Educational Diversity Award on behalf of the UW Colleges and UW-Extension for the institutions' Multicultural Awareness Program. The award was presented by the State Council on Affirmative Action and the Wisconsin Office of State Employment Relations. September 16, 2009: Chancellor Wilson was part of the grand opening ceremony for the Communications Arts Center on the UW-Fox Valley campus in Menasha. The facility is a model for incorporating sustainable design principles into the architectural design and the building operations.

August 11, 2009: Chancellor Wilson greets Governor Jim Doyle at the Wisconsin 4-H Foundations' 18th Annual Governor's Sweepstakes Meat Products Auction. Funds raised at the auction support the 4-H Foundation's work with Wisconsin youth.
August 6, 2009: Chancellor David Wilson (right) speaks with Congressman David Obey at the Understanding and Overcoming Poverty in Wisconsin conference. The conference was sponsored by the Wisconsin Institute for Public Policy and Service which is located on the University of Wisconsin-Marathon County campus in Wausau.
July 1, 2009: During UW-Extension's Division of Continuing Education, Outreach and E-Learnings (CEOEL) divisional recognition reception, Chancellor Wilson honors Kay Taube, Assistant Dean for Collaborative Programs since 1998, on her retirement July 10.

Speaker Sheridan learned about the collaboration effort of UW-Platteville, UW-Sheboygan and UW-Washington County to implement an accredited undergraduate engineering degree program to serve non-traditional students in eastern Wisconsin.

May 6, 2009: UW-Marinette Dean/CEO Paula Langteau, UW-Green Bay Interim Chancellor David Ward, Chancellor David Wilson (4th from left) and UW-Green Bay Interim Provost Bill Laatsch signed an articulation agreement to facilitate ease of student transfers from UW-Marinette to UW-Green Bay. UW Regent Michael Spector was also on hand for the event.

April 30, 2009: Chancellor Wilson looks over one of the eight displays in the Capitol Rotunda on Innovation Day with Mary Grant and John Oppenheimer, both of UW-Extension's Division of Continuing Education, Outreach and E-Learning (CEOEL). Innovation Day, sponsored by UW Colleges and UW-Extension, showed how the Colleges and Extension are joined together by a shared vision of maximizing access to the University of Wisconsin resources, research, and expertise.

March 12, 2009: Chancellor Wilson (L) was on hand with Richard Klemme, Dean, UW Cooperative Extension; Yvonne Horton, Assoc. Dean, UW Cooperative Extension and Gerry Broderick, Milwaukee County Supervisor and Chairman of Parks, Energy & Environment to welcome the Milwaukee County Cooperative Extension to their new offices at 9501 W. Watertown Plank Road in Waukesha. Through the new location, the Cooperative Extension office will be able to recruit and attract residents into educational programs because the office is on a bus route, has ample parking and is accessible to people with special needs. In addition, the county-owned facility has expanded meeting rooms. The office connects people and organizations to University of Wisconsin System knowledge using the vast array of UW System resources. Clientele, including children, youth and adults, community groups and the private and government sectors of Milwaukee County, receive up-to-date objective and research-based knowledge to help them as they make decisions that affect their lives, organizations and communities.

Chancellor Wilson met with UW-Oshkosh officials and Dean Paula Langteau at the UW-Marinette campus to sign a new collaborative degree agreement between the two institutions for a Bachelor in Liberal Studies (BLS) degree with an emphasis in Leadership Development. The agreement was also signed with UW-Fox Valley in Menasha earlier in the day.
UW-Marinette and UW-Fox Valley students can earn credits toward both their associate and bachelor¹s degrees simultaneously by fulfilling their general education course requirements at UW-Marinette and UW-Fox Valley. With an emphasis in Leadership Development, UW Oshkosh¹s BLS program is designed specifically to serve adult non-traditional students and will be delivered at UW-Fox Valley using a combination of face-to-face classes, distance learning technology and online learning. Students at UW-Marinette will have the ability to participate in the upper level courses taught at UW-Fox Valley through compressed video feeds of the courses.

December 16, 2008: Chancellor Wilson addressed the Marinette County Board about the cost savings to incoming freshman at the UW Colleges and their success rate later at four-year schools. The local UW-Marinette campus offers nearly 20 bachelor degrees and about one-third of their students are age 22 or older.

UW Colleges and UW-Extension Chancellor Wilson and President Jim Rahn announced 20 4-H Gateway sites for summer 2009 at Henry Mitchell Middle School in Racine on November 20, 2008. Since the announcement, a 21st site has been added.

August 28, 2008: Chancellor David Wilson congratulates UW-Marinette grad Katie Jo Pockat on the essay she shared with faculty and staff at Convocation entitled "To My Dear Little Brother: Everything You Must Know about Your Liberal Education." Katie won a UW System Liberal Arts Essay Scholarship Award for her essay. She has transferred to UW-Stevens Point where she will continue work on her bachelor's degree in the field of environmental science.

August 28, 2008: Chancellor David Wilson presents the Chancellor's Awards for Excellence in Teaching (Instructional Academic Staff) to Deborah Bernhardt, who is a lecturer in English at UW-Baraboo/Sauk County, the UW Colleges' campus in Baraboo. He also presented the Barrington-Musolf Faculty Research Award to Mark Holdhusen, assistant professor of Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, and Astronomy at UW-Marathon County, the UW Colleges' campus in Wausau.
August 28, 2008: Chancellor David Wilson addressed the faculty and staff at the UW Colleges' Fall 2008 Convocation and presented awards. Here he presents the Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Teaching (Faculty) to Patricia Clasen, who is an assistant professor in Communication and Theatre Arts at UW-Rock County, the UW Colleges' campus in Janesville.

August 26, 2008: When visiting UW-Extension's Barron County Office, Chancellor Wilson enjoyed a presentation by the 4-H Horse Project Adaptive Riding leaders. Some of the youth available for the presentation demonstrated riding skills. The youth here is wearing the awards he won while competing at the Western District Pleasure Show.

August 26, 2008: Mary Geissler, Family Living Educator-Chippewa County, shares points from her Fetal Alcohol presentation to the chancellor when he visited the county. The life-like mannequins provide a realistic experience for students, jail inmates and many other populations in the county about the dangers of drinking while pregnant.

August 22, 2008: The efforts of the Kern Family Foundation of Waukesha to provide Wisconsin's young people with education in the crucial areas of science, technology, engineering and math were recognized at the Aug. 22, 2008, UW System Board of Regents meeting in Madison. Kern Family Foundation President Jim Rahn (second from right) thanked UW System President Kevin Reilly (far left), State Superintendent Elizabeth Burmaster, and UW Colleges and UW-Extension Chancellor David Wilson (far right) for their leadership in helping to develop a well-prepared 21st-century workforce.
