Collaborations

2007-08 Program Innovation Fund project
"Fourth Shift: Family Matters"

Research tells us that adult students frequently have personal and family challenges that influence their success in higher education. UW-Extension (Cooperative Extension and Continuing Education, Outreach and e-Learning) and UW Colleges colleagues joined forces to develop 8 fact sheets on various topics that will assist adult students in balancing their jobs, school demands, and family demands. The topics were chosen through focus group interviews with adult students and include: balancing family and study time, finances, changing relationships and expectations of family members and stress and time management. These materials will be available Fall 2008 in free print or downloadable podcast messages from the UWIN web site https://uwin.wisconsin.edu, from Adult Student Advisors and Cooperative Extension Family Living educators.
