The Wisconsin Humanities Council has awarded grants for the Talking Spirits program, which is held each fall at Forest Hill Cemetery in Madison. In this award-winning program, local actors and actresses wear period dress to give people a first-person encounter with Wisconsin’s soldiers and citizens during the Civil War.
Not only does the [Talking Spirits] program continue to introduce the museum and its mission to new audiences, it also invites dialogue and discourse about the founding years of our community and state. These discussions invariably lead to reflections of who we are as Wisconsinites and how each of us impact our communities through our actions and contributions.
