Workshop information
Who should attend
All UW Colleges and UW-Extension faculty, academic staff and classified staff employees who want to learn and apply multicultural concepts and practices in their work environment and educational programs should attend this workshop.
We know from demographic data that the UW Colleges and UW-Extension student and clientele base has changed, is changing and will continue to change. Our work in multiculturalism is central to fulfilling our missions and ensuring that all Wisconsin people can access university resources.

Workshop schedule
Please plan to attend the entire workshop. The success of training is dependent upon the full participation of the entire group.
Day 1 (9am - 4:30pm)
- 8am - 9am
- Registration and refreshments
- 9am - 12:15pm
- Agenda, goals, introductions, guidelines, Feelings as Messengers, Class Divided video, discussion
- 12:15pm - 1pm
- Group lunch
- 1pm - 4pm
- Multicultural Process of Change concepts and practice
- 4pm
- Closure and homework assignment
Day 2 (8:30am - 3:30pm)
- 8:30am - 12:15pm
- Check-in, Feedback theory and practice, Modern "isms"/Internalized Oppression theory, alternative behaviors, practical applications
- 12:15pm
- Group lunch
- 1pm - 2:45pm
- Practical applications and practice
- 2:45pm
- Personal action planning, re-entry, closure and evaluations
Meals and Lodging
Lunch and refreshments (am and pm) will be provided both days of the workshop. Special dietary needs should be noted on the registration form.
If you live more than 50 miles from the workshop location, you can make reservations to stay at the workshop hotel. Information about this will be sent to you in a confirmation letter.
Expenses
There is no registration fee for UW Colleges and UW-Extension employees.
You will be reimbursed for any travel expenses you incur. Contact information for expenses will be provided at the workshops.
