- Outreach Scholarship conference proposals
- Proposals to present at the 2007 Outreach Scholarship conference, Access Through Engagement, must be submitted online no later than Feb. 28, 2007. Successful applicants will be notified by April 15.
- The conference, co-sponsored by UW-Extension, Ohio State University, Pennsylvania State University and University of Georgia, will be held Oct. 7-9 at Monona Terrace in Madison.

- DPDI proposals
- UW-Extension Continuing Education, Outreach and E-Learning is accepting proposals for the eighth annual Diversity Program Development Initiative (DPDI). The grants are available to continuing education programmers on all 26 UW campuses or divisional units for start-up programs that further the goals of UW-Extension's Plan 2008. Several grants for up to $10,000 each will be awarded. Grant proposals are due online March 2, 2007.

- UW Continuing EDvantage proposals
- UW-Extension Continuing Education, Outreach and E-Learning is accepting proposals from the UW campuses continuing education offices for the 2007-08 UW Continuing EDvantage grant program. The EDvantage economic development initiative provides funding for programs that meet the education and training needs of working adults and support diverse communities that attract and retain talented individuals.
- The grants provide start-up funding to new initiatives that create partnerships with Wisconsin businesses, county and government agencies, the nonprofit sector and UW Continuing Education offices. Proposals are due via email or surface mail April 2, 2007.

- Multicultural Awareness Workshops
- All UW Colleges and UW-Extension employees are encouraged to participate in two-day Multicultural Awareness Workshops to learn and apply multicultural concepts and practices in their work environment and educational programs. Register early as the workshops fill quickly.

- By understanding class, UW Colleges and UW-Extension faculty and staff can collaborate more closely in the workplace and better serve clients and students (particularly those who are the first generation in their family to attend college). Consultant, writer and activist Betsy Leondar-Wright will tell how to build alliances across cultures at a free, one-hour videoconference noon until 1 p.m., Monday, April 16, 2007.
- Class Matters: Breaking Down Class Barriers in the Workplace and the Classroom is co-sponsored by the UW Colleges and UW-Extension Status of Women Committee, UW System Women's Studies Consortium, and UW System Women and Science Program.

- UW-Extension faculty tenure workshops
- UW-Extension faculty tenure workshops cover the essential features of the tenure process and scholarship for both decision makers and those preparing to make application for tenure. Those who will benefit from attending include Standards, Rank and Promotions Committee and Faculty Tenure Advisory Committee members; department chairs; program leaders; mentors; and faculty members who are considering making an application for tenure.

- WRLP nominations
- The UW-Extension Rural Leadership Program (WRLP) staff seeks assistance from UW Colleges and UW-Extension faculty and staff in identifying potential candidates for its leadership training program. The two-year program is designed for Wisconsin adults who have already demonstrated leadership, but would like to broaden their skills and knowledge so they can better help their communities in dealing with critical public-policy issues. The program includes eight, three-day in-state seminars focusing on topics including technology, the environment and the economy. Participants also will travel nationally and internationally. Applications will be accepted through Nov. 1, 2007.
