Immigration: Many Faces; Many Facets
The Immigration: Many Faces; Many Facets conference presented by the UW System Institute on Race and Ethnicity in collaboration with the UW-Milwaukee School of Continuing Education and other UWM co-sponsors is April 26-27, 2007, in Milwaukee.
Presenters include faculty and academic staff representing 12 UW System campuses, representatives from community-based organizations, as well as academicians and professional experts from across the country. Topics related to the issue of U.S. immigration include:
- Research endeavors
- Outreach activities
- Policy initiatives
- Community involvement

Program Innovation Fund proposals
Proposals for 2007-08 Program Innovation Fund projects are due May 4, 2007. In keeping with Chancellor David Wilson's IDEAS for a Better Wisconsin, proposals should address one or more of the following five themes: Innovation, Diversity, Economic Development, Access, Stewardship.
Approximately $200,000 of funding is available to support innovative projects and programs that foster greater collaboration among and between the UW-Extension divisions, UW Colleges and other UW institutions and/or community partners. For more information: http://www.uwex.edu/provost/proginnov/

Chancellor's Awards Banquet
The first joint UW Colleges and UW-Extension joint Chancellor's Awards Banquet will be Thursday, Sept. 20, 2007, at the Lowell Center in Madison. All employees are invited to attend to celebrate the accomplishments of partners and faculty and staff during the past year. Please watch for e-mails from Chancellor David Wilson about awards nomination information (this spring) and the banquet (this summer).
