Extension Conference Centers (ECC): providing facilities, technical support, food and lodging
Your event-planning needs
Looking for a place to host a meeting, conference or reception? Need the perfect site, setup, technical support, food service and lodging?
The answer
Book your event at one of three fully accessible Extension Conference Centers (ECC) designated specifically for use by the University of Wisconsin System, State of Wisconsin, and other governmental and educational organizations.
Located along the Lake Mendota shoreline on the UW-Madison campus, all three conference centers offer a convenient and comfortable meeting environment for instructors and participants alike.
A choice of three conference centers
The Pyle Center, located near the Memorial Union on Langdon Street, offers meeting rooms, catering and leading-edge interactive technologies. The center offers more than 100,000 square feet of space and nearly 30 rooms of varying sizes and configurations, including distance-education rooms, a teaching computer lab, 92-seat auditorium, dining rooms (280 seats and 48 seats), lounges and reception areas for up to 300 guests.
The recently remodeled Lowell Center, located one block from the Pyle Center, offers 81 guest rooms, an indoor swimming pool, sauna and exercise room. The facility also includes boardrooms, classrooms, break-out areas, a dining room (320 seats), and two spacious reception areas. A continental breakfast and parking are included in the reasonable room rates (state rates).
The J.F. Friedrick Center offers a relaxing retreat in a serene setting across the bay from Picnic Point. The center features 48 guest rooms and a full array of amenities. The main lobby offers a setting for receptions. A spacious dining room (200 seats) is open for meetings, meals and other gatherings. Overnight room rates (state rates) include a continental breakfast, parking and taxi service to all UW-Madison campus locations.
ECC services
ECC Catering Services provides outstanding food and beverage choices for all meals, receptions and breaks. Selections priced to meet state rates are available.
Audiovisual equipment and technical support for all three centers are provided by the Instructional Media Services (IMS) department of UW-Extension Instructional Communications Systems (ICS).
ECC offers comprehensive conference-planning services, from initial conceptualization through budgeting, contracts, registrations, space rental, equipment, media services, travel and guest-room arrangements, catering, printing, promotion, transportation and more.
ECC staff also can handle meeting- and conference-related registration tasks.
Affordability
ECC pricing is very reasonable and depends on the services used. Some rates are itemized, such as catering; others may be customized, such as conference planning, registration services, support and lodging. There is no charge to reserve meeting rooms.
