Oakwood Fruit Farm/Applouis Registered Holsteins of Richland Center is the recipient of the UW Colleges and UW-Extension 2008 Chancellor's Wisconsin Idea Award for embracing opportunities to collaborate on university research and for generously sharing expertise and experience with others.
The annual Chancellor's Award Banquet attracted almost 200 colleagues, friends, family members and dignitaries to the Lowell Center on the UW-Madison campus. Thirteen Chancellor's Awards were bestowed upon UW Colleges' and UW-Extension's partners and employees.
A highlight of the evening was the premiere of the 2008 Wisconsin Idea video, which showcases the work of the Louis and Alvin families with UW-Extension experts Steve Kohlstedt, community resource development agent; Patricia McManus, fruit pathology specialist; and Daniel Mahr, insect control specialist, all from Cooperative Extension.
