As a retired earth and physical science teacher and current water quality chairperson for my lake association I always want to stay informed on all issues current to science and society. I heard about the Science on Tap program in Minocqua through my science education email connections and when I heard that there was going to be a Glacial Geology and Soils of the North Woods field trip I knew it was something I wanted to do. It was a good choice. Our presenters Elmo Rawling and Nick Blastner were engaging, friendly and clearly well-informed about their topics. I feel much more up-to-date in my knowledge of these areas and will definitely get the maps from WGNHS to add to my collection of resources on local environmental issues and conditions.
