Our county is the recipient of a CDC Private Water Quality grant. We had staff from the WI Geological and Natural History Survey come and provide a presentation to a group of local agency representatives on ground water, rock structure and potential ways that ground water can be contaminated from natural and man made resources. It was very informative. I would suggest that the presentations be shared in a greater circle in rural and suburban communities where many residents have private wells as a source of water for their homes. There are things to learn and things people can learn to help protect their private water supply.
