Over the course of many years I've collaborated with UW-Extension at the county, multi-county and state levels, in so many instances it would be hard to remember. Currently through my position with Wisconsin Rural Partners, I work with the Extension Center for Community and Economic Development on three projects: Small Town Forums, the publication Rural Wisconsin Today, and the annual Wisconsin Rural Summit. We at Rural Partners share with Extension staff the desire for a more prosperous rural Wisconsin. The Small Town Forums are designed to help smaller municipalities link with organizations, and each other, to better bring numerous resources to play to help them grow in the manner they choose. Rural Wisconsin Today illuminates the issues and opportunities rural areas in our state face and contributing Extension researchers are at the forefront of discovery in this regard. Extension has been a partner in Rural Summit for over 20 years, providing guidance and resources. I also want to mention that I continually seek help from Extension educators in Iowa County and southwest Wisconsin, where I live. They help with myriad things like prairie restoration, oak savannas and even long-range planning for local non-profit organizations.
