I want to give a huge shout out to Carol McCartney of the Wisconsin Geological and Natural History Survey for her continued support of science education in Wisconsin. Carol has donated many mineral and rock samples from her personal collection over the years for the Wisconsin Earth Science Teachers Association Rock Raffle at the Wisconsin Society of Science Teachers (WSST) Conference. This year, she again donated this time with two highly sought after samples of Mississippi Valley Type with Sphalerite/Calcite and a Blue Shale with Brachiopods. Carol also is always available during the WSST conference in the vendor hall at the conference and presents individual sessions to help educate and provide needed resources for our state's K-12 educators in Wisconsin Geology and Earth Sciences. Thank you Carol, you are awesome!
