About Wisconsin GetFacts
For those who teach GIS or Geog of Wisconsin or are interested in GIS, there is a new web mapper available from UW Madison that is simple but quite nice. Students will be able to answer simple spatial demographic questions with virtually no learning curve. It is also fairly fast for a web mapper and you can download geography and data in shapefile format for use in any desktop GIS. It can be found at http://www.getfacts.wisc.edu/ .
There is a nice article in the Wisconsin Mapping Bulletin from the Wisconsin State Cartographers Office. That article can be found at http://www.sco.wisc.edu/pubs/bulletin/b_article.php?id=293 .
