Using Outlook Web Access to Reset Your Password
This week's tip explains how to use Outlook Web Access (OWA) to reset your password.
Note for UWEX Users - this process is only used to change your Email password.
Note for UW Colleges Users - this process can be used to change you network password.
Accessing OWA
UW Extension users: open a web browser and enter https://owa.uwex.edu. This will bring up the login page for UW Extension OWA.

Log into OWA using your email username and password.
UW Colleges users: open a web browser and enter https://owa.uwc.edu. This will bring up the login page for UW Colleges OWA.

Log into OWA using your full email address and password.
Changing the Password
The next steps apply for both UWC and UWEX users.
When OWA opens, look for the navigation buttons in the lower left corner of the window/screen.

Click on the Options button.![]()
Scroll down to the bottom of the Options screen. The second to last item is Password.
Click on the Change Password button. 
The Internet Service Manager dialog box will open. Fill it in as shown. The DOMAIN for all UWC and UWEX users is UWC. Users will also need to enter their Account - firstname.lastname, their Old password (current password) once, and then enter and confirm their New password.
There are some rules for passwords. They include:
- Users can't reuse a password that was one of their 6 previous passwords
- A password must include at least 8 characters
- A password must include at least 1 number

Once all the information has been entered, click on the OK button.
The following image shows the dialog box that will appear after clicking on OK. It should say Password successfully changed.

Finally, click on the link in the dialog box that begins with "Back to" . This will take the user back to OWA.
