Internet Explorer - Opening Multiple Tabs on IE Start-Up
Most Internet Explorer users access some of the same web sites frequently. This tip explains how to set up Internet Explorer to open multiple tabs with those commonly used web sites.
Default View
When Internet Explorer (IE) opens, the default view is either your campus home page or http://www.msn.com and looks something like this:

The image above shows the home page and one additional tab that can be clicked on to navigate to another web site and maintain the view of the default page that comes up when IE opens.
What IE looks like with multiple tabs open:
First determine which web sites are used frequently. In IE, open each of those pages on a separate tab. In the image below I used the "Quick Tabs View"
to create this view. It shows a thumbnail of the web site that is on each Tab.

Once all these tabs are set to the site to be opened when IE opens, we can finish the set-up to make this happen.
How to set IE to open multiple tabs when IE opens:
- Open another IE Window (not a Tab) by going to the File menu and selecting New Window.
- Click on the Tools button.

- On the pull-down menu, click on Internet Options

- The Internet Options dialog box opens and we can now enter the URL's for each of the tabs we want to have open when IE opens. Copy and paste each URL on a new line in the Home Page section. Once all the URL's have been entered, click on the Apply button, and then on OK.

- Test the settings by closing IE and then reopening it. See if all the tabs open correctly. If not, repeat the above steps.
